NEGIE ZIN - Co-Retreat Curator & Travel Coordinator (Burma)
A financial broker and health care specialist by profession, Negie is also a lover of world cultures, history, food, oceans, metaphysical studies and Ayurvedice medicine.
Negie was born and raised in Yangon (former capital) of Myanmar (Burma). Her earliest cultural awakenings came at five years old when her parents traveled throughout Southeast Asian countries: Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Singapore. Shortly after, she and her family visited North America in 1985. To date, she has set foot in 21 different countries and continues to expand her cultural horizons and travel adventures.
Negie moved to the United States upon high school graduation to attend college in California. After she attained a degree in International Business Management with a Minor in Business Law at California Polytechnic University, Negie began her career in 2006, as an investment specialist. In 2010, she went into medical insurance sales, working closely with physicians for the care of senior patients. The job involved educating the patients about interventional care as well as reporting and analyzing data. Being in the field, she discovered her passion for health care, which motivated her to enroll in a Master of Science program in Public Health. Many of her travel adventures took place while she was attaining a graduate degree. In 2014, she completed her Master’s degree at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU).
Negie Zin is an old student of Vipassana meditation practice, a branch of Theravada Buddhism. She incorporates mediation and yoga practices into her daily rituals.
Negie enjoys traveling the world as a traveler by learning different cultures and cultivating new experiences along the way. At times, she challenges herself to blaze a trial on an unbeaten path. She also loves sharing her travel experiences with others by pictorial blogs and making new friends. In her free time, she finds herself learning about astrology, stargazing, and frequenting the beach. Aloha!
